The better lighting tower is the one that fits the site. A city construction project with neighbours, short relocations and daily supervision has different needs from a remote quarry, pipeline route or mine with long winter nights and infrequent visits. MPMC manufactures diesel-powered lighting towers at its Haimen factory alongside HSL solar lighting towers and HBL diesel-battery hybrid towers, so it can recommend the right mix for each site rather than a single technology.
Construction Sites: Where Solar Towers Excel
Quiet, Clean Lighting Near Neighbours
Urban and suburban construction sites benefit most from HSL solar towers. They run silently with zero emissions at the point of use, ideal near homes, hospitals and schools, and need no refuelling rounds. The HSL-1500B lights 12,000 m² at an average of 5 lux for up to 20 hours from an 8.0 kWh LFP battery and 1,525 W of integrated solar, with one-button mast raising to 7.5 m, 355° rotation and 90° head adjustment to light every corner of a changing site.
Fast Moves Between Work Zones
As a project progresses, towers move with the work. The HSL-1500B trailer chassis meets road safety standards for travel at 80 km/h, so towers can be relocated quickly between zones or projects.
Solar towers also simplify site logistics: with no fuel to store or deliver, fuel handling stays well away from lighting positions, and towers can be placed exactly where light is needed rather than where a fuel bowser can reach.

Remote Sites: Autonomy Comes First
On remote sites, the key question is how long a tower can run between visits. Larger HSL models carry 16.07 kWh or 32.14 kWh batteries, with the HSL-3840B lighting 24,100 m² for up to 40 hours from 3,840 W of solar panels. Where nights are very long or skies often overcast, the HBL-600D-M X-Matrix hybrid tower adds a 6 kW Kubota Z482-3B diesel generator to its 8 kWh LiFePO4 battery, running up to 53 hours on battery alone and reaching 420 hours of autonomy from its 130 L tank. Its four 150 W LEDs at 200 lm/W light 18,200 m² from a 9.0 m hydraulic mast with 355° rotation.

Planning Coverage and Numbers
Coverage figures make planning simple. Divide the area to be lit by the tower’s coverage at 5 lux to estimate how many towers are needed, then choose solar, hybrid or a mix based on night length and access. A 48,000 m² compound, for example, is covered by two HSL-3840B towers at their rated 24,100 m² each, or four HSL-1500B towers at 12,000 m² each.
Many sites combine technologies: HSL solar towers across the main working areas, with HBL-600D-M hybrid towers at remote perimeters, access roads or locations with the longest hours of darkness, giving every zone the right balance of autonomy and zero-emission operation.

HSL towers carry a warranty of 2 years or 1,000 charge-discharge cycles; HBL towers carry 1 year or 1,000 hours on the genset and 2 years or 1,000 cycles on the battery. Optional 4G and CCTV on HSL towers support unattended operation and site security.
